All abstracts and manuscripts must be submitted through ROSA (Responsive Online System for Acta Horticulturae submission and review).
Deadline for abstracts submission: 1 May 2025.
Abstract acceptance July 15th 2025. The program committee will try to accommodate your preferred method of presentation; however, as each format will form an integral part of the symposium, the organizing committee reserves the right to assign papers to either oral or poster presentation as necessary.
Abstract Submission Details
Abstracts must be written in English to be considered for review.
The abstract should not exceed 300 words in length.
Tables, images, and graphs are not permitted in abstracts.
All acronyms must be fully spelled out upon first mention.
It is essential to thoroughly check abstracts for any spelling or grammatical errors before submission.
There is a submission fee for abstracts, applicable only to the presenting author. However, ISHS Individual members are exempt from this charge. If you do not yet have an ISHS user account, you must create one first. Once payment is made and your account is activated, you can proceed with abstract submission.
Abstracts must be submitted directly by the presenting author using their own ISHS user account. Submissions through another author’s account or on behalf of someone else are not allowed.
While the program committee will make every effort to accommodate your preferred presentation format, the organizing committee reserves the right to assign your abstract to either an oral or poster presentation as necessary to fit the symposium structure.
If you fail to present your work (oral or poster) at the symposium, your manuscript will be removed from the Acta Horticulturae symposium proceedings.
Oral Presentations
Each oral presentation will be allocated 15 minutes, followed by an additional 5 minutes for questions and discussion. Presenters are strongly encouraged to use electronic tools like PowerPoint or Adobe Acrobat for their presentations.
All oral presenters, including invited and keynote speakers, must submit a manuscript for Acta Horticulturae according to the Acta Horticulturae guidelines by September 1, 2025. (Alternatively, presenters have the option to submit a full scientific manuscript on the topic presented at the symposium to the ISHS Scientific Journal eJHS in lieu of submitting a manuscript for Acta Horticulturae). Oral presenters who fail to submit a manuscript for publication in Acta Horticulturae or the ISHS Scientific Journal may be refused the floor for making their oral presentation. Authors of posters are strongly encouraged to prepare and submit a manuscript for Acta Horticulturae.
Poster Presentations
There will be designated poster sessions during the event, and each poster presenter will be asked to give a short (less than 2 minutes) overview of their poster.
ISHS Young Minds Awards
At this symposium, two Young Minds Awards for junior scientists will be presented:
One for the best oral presentation by a junior scientist who is both the presenter and the first author of the submitted manuscript.
One for the best poster presentation by a junior scientist who is the first author of the work.
